Cosmetic and Reconstructive Oculoplastic Surgeon
Dr. Mohit Dewan is an Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who focuses entirely on reconstructive, plastic, revision, and cosmetic surgery of the eyes and adjacent tissue. He’s been named an Mpls-St Paul Magazine Rising Star, nominated by his peers for his excellence in practice. He won this honor every year that he was eligible. His skill and expertise in reconstructive and revisional surgery make him in-demand with patients from across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Midwest.
Dr. Dewan grew up in Rochester, Minnesota. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he majored in biology. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School, he completed his residency at the University of Minnesota, serving as Chief Resident. He then completed a prestigious fellowship program administered by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – the preeminent professional society for periocular surgery, and the most competitive subspecialty training across all medical subspecialties.
During his fellowship training, Dr. Dewan published several articles on eyelid disorders and periocular disease, and he continues to conduct research now. He has written several book chapters about eyelid surgery, most recently a chapter on cosmetic upper eyelid blepharoplasty that was published in 2021. He presents his research at ophthalmology conferences and was awarded the Golden Apple for best teacher in the ophthalmology department at Albany Medical College.
Outside the office, Dr. Dewan enjoys cooking, travel, and spending time with his wife and two children.
